Batch operations & recipes
Save any workflow as a reusable recipe — format, preset, destination, naming rules, post-actions. Replay against thousands of files in one click.
recipe: nightly-backup → 7z · ultra · split 1 GB · sha-256 · move to NAS
A beautifully fast archive manager for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Create, extract, and manage ZIP, RAR, 7-Zip, and TAR — with batch ops, watch folders, split volumes, and checksum verification built in.
ZipOrZoom is built for engineers, creatives, and IT teams who move a lot of files. It's fast where it should be, cautious where it matters, and quiet the rest of the time.

Ship your archive as a single double-clickable executable for macOS, Windows, or Linux. No recipient install required.
Compare formats on your own files before you commit. See real-world speed, ratio, and CPU cost side-by-side on your hardware.

Yes. The public beta is free on every platform, with no ads or trackers. A paid Pro tier with team features is planned after 1.0 — but everything currently shipping is free.
For the overwhelming majority of workflows, yes. ZipOrZoom reads and writes all the major formats those tools handle, plus modern ones like Zstandard. If you have a niche legacy format we don't support yet, let us know.
Streaming throughout. ZipOrZoom never loads a full archive into memory — it works the same on a 50 MB zip as on a 400 GB multi-volume 7z. Progress is always cancellable.
Entirely. All compression, extraction, and checksum work happens on your machine. The only thing that touches the network is the auto-update check, which you can disable.
Yes. ZipOrZoom is developed in the open on GitHub. You can read, build, and contribute to both the Swift and Electron codebases.
ZIP uses AES-256 by default; 7z uses AES-256 with SHA-256 key derivation. Passwords are never stored unless you explicitly ask ZipOrZoom to remember them in your OS keychain.
